Peixes in Port

Peixies
4 rue de l’opera

If you’re fancying top quality fresh seafood but don’t want to head over to the Port, then Peixies (pronounced ‘pesh’) is the place for you. Just a minute from Place Massena, with a great vibe in the evening in this part of town, this restaurant is a must for the fish lovers!

With a tapas style and Mediterranean feel, you don’t go here to be full-up from one plate. The plates are small, but the quality shines through. This place works best when there’s a group of you wanting to order a good few things and share amongst yourselves. Your choices will mainly be from different kinds of ceviche (typically made from fresh raw fish, citrus juice and spices), although there are plenty of meat and poultry options too.

Take heed of the no reservations policy. It is very popular for both locals and tourists in Nice so you are likely to be turned away if you don’t get a space early. Yet, it’s relaxed, so there’s no harm in strolling over after a day out in the sun to see what all the fuss is about. No need to go home and change, the locals certainly don’t.

For our regular guests, who most likely have dined at the delicious Bistrot d’Antoine, you might like knowing, that this place is run by the same owner.

Dishes tend to be around 10-18€
