Booklovers will adore this cosy and charming enclave located just off Place Massena. Spend a few minutes with the owner and you’ll see he’s clearly infatuated with all things literary. It’s a friendly place for bookworms and there’s always someone on hand to help you choose from the well-curated array of books.
It’s not hard to see that the Librairie is a labour of love: tiny handwritten notes with reviews, summaries, and recommendations accompany many of the books, lending the feeling that you are in the owner’s personal library; every book carefully hand-chosen.
Perhaps as a homage to Nice’s long and varied relationship with art, the shop specialises in fine art texts, with an entire section dedicated to Nice’s very own greats: Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall.
Opens Monday-Saturday 10:00-19:00 (from 11:00 on Mondays)
