Parc Vigier

You’ll find Parc Vigier right next to Coco Beach, near the Port. It’s not huge, more small and sweet, but since it’s a little out of the main city hub, there’s space enough for those who frequent it.

Fragrant with a variety of exotic greenery, including some impressive trees, here you can while away an hour reading, cloud and sea watching or simply listening to the wildlife and the gentle breaking of the waves.

Set just back from the road, this park is close enough to combine with a cooling dip in the Med. More adventurous may join in with the teens and jumps off the rocks at Coco beach into the sea below.

There’s a small children’s play area with a few swings, a slide and a see-saw, and often empty during the week.

You can grab a sandwich from a few cafes around the Port before reaching the park, or stand in line at the popular kiosk, La Gratta, which sells enormous, freshly made Pan Bagnats every day – a true Niçois speciality.

Not only for the crowd-pleasing snacks available, the park is particularly popular with Nice’s residents. Personal training and one-to-one yoga sessions often take place here. With the salty sea air and views, it’s a place for meditation and freeing soul and mind. So, despite its modest dimensions, for pure tranquillity and to live like the locals, this is the place to be.
