Posted Apr 2019 in Go & Do
You are still in the heart of Nice, but just by walking uphill for fifteen minutes, the air changes completely, you escape the crowds and you come across the Estienne d’Orves Park. Within these 15 hectares there’s plenty of foliage and magnificent views.
It’s a perfect picnic park; there are picnic benches towards the bottom, as well as toilet facilities and water points at three different points, the park is very accommodating.
Within the park the trail to follow is one that guides you along the history of the park. Discover how the former property of Château Miramar and the land of the heirs of the Estienne d'Orves family turned into Estienne D’Orves Park. Olive trees cover the highest points, leaving traces of the former farm, alongside the collection of impressive protected trees.
With panoramic views in all directions over Nice and the Mediterranean, it is easy to see the attraction of this park. For both tourists and locals this is a popular spot for walking, picnicking and enjoying some peace and quiet above the bustling streets of Nice.
