On-line Guide: Polly & Cie

Found at 6 avenue du Ray, 06100 Nice, this cute place is a bit of a secret. It was shared with us by our interns, who lived with university students who knew little gems are to be found outside the tourist hub. You might want to give it a try if you fancy heading just out of the centre of Nice to something a bit different, especially if you have teenagers to impress. It won’t break the bank, prices are on the cheaper side, and the food will suit most palates.
You can get here by hopping on the T1 Tram to Valrose Universite (direction Henri Sappia) and a few minutes walk will see you basking in the delights of the home-made menu with an emphasis on “indulge”.
It’s a concept store, with a restaurant and a clothes store in one (best eat before trying on clothes). In typical French fashion, many of the clothes are one-offs, and they specialise in alterations so you can have something that fits just right. There’s jewellery to match – if you’d not a shopper but want to come home brushing off compliments with a “oh, this is just something I picked up in a small boutique in France”, then head here.
They also hold regular events from beach parties, Halloween and all that is in-between.
Open from Tuesday – Saturday 10:30 to 18:80 with Friday extended opening hours until 22:30.
Closed on Mondays & Sundays.
